Everett's love of books inspired him to spend a few years managing the W. Gordon Ryan Branch Library in Lucasville, OH.
Everett worked as a liaison between a general contractor and subcontractors in the construction of 28 homes for the Portsmouth Metropolitan Housing Authority. From site layout, footings, foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC to the final shingle on the roof, Everett was involved in each phase of construction. Everett has also been an active real estate investor who has purchased homes and multi-unit apartment buildings for investments.
Everett's inquiring mind and his lifelong involvement in construction and real estate has culminated in his current passion - inspecting homes. Everett regularly attends home inspection seminars and conferences around the country to expand his knowledge of building science. Most home inspectors are from the construction trades and few can match Everett's academic credentials or his analytical abilities to identify, analyze and clearly report the implications of various defects.
